Violet Evergarden

After four years of relentless fighting, the continent was finally able to begin the process of healing and rebuilding its shattered communities. The war’s end brought hope for peace and renewal, but also left deep scars that would take time to mend. This period of transition was critical, as nations and individuals alike sought to move past the horrors and trauma of the conflict.

Among those affected by the war was Violet Evergarden, a young girl whose life was forever altered by the violence she endured. Violet was specially raised to serve as a weapon in the war, trained to eliminate enemy lines with deadly efficiency. Her early life was consumed by training and combat, with her identity tied closely to her role as a soldier. However, her experience in the war left her physically injured and emotionally scarred, forcing her to confront the reality of her trauma and loss.

During a fierce skirmish toward the end of the war, Violet was seriously wounded and hospitalized. She suffered both physical injuries and emotional upheaval, especially after losing the person she loved most. The only remnant of that lost connection was a set of words from her beloved, which she struggled to understand and interpret. This gap in understanding left Violet often feeling lost and disconnected, as she grappled with feelings she could not yet comprehend.

After her recovery, Violet found herself at a crossroads. She left her guardian family, feeling disconnected from her wartime past, and sought a new purpose in life. She took a job at CH Postal Services, an ordinary position that seemed to offer a chance for a fresh start. Unbeknownst to her initially, this decision would lead her to encounter a fascinating world of communication and human emotion. Her life was about to change in ways she had never anticipated.

Violet’s journey took a pivotal turn when she discovered the work of the "Auto Memory Dolls." These specialized amanuenses transcribe people’s thoughts and feelings into written words, serving as a bridge between the inner worlds of their clients and the outside world. Inspired by this work, Violet decided to become an Auto Memory Doll herself. This new path not only allowed her to hone her skills in understanding human emotions but also offered her a means to explore her own feelings and find her own identity beyond her soldier past. Her work would lead her to touch the lives of many, helping others express themselves and, in turn, helping herself to heal.
