Wakana Gojo is a high school student with a strong passion for traditional Japanese crafts, specifically aiming to become a kashirashi. A kashirashi is a master craftsman known for creating intricate and beautiful Hina dolls, which are an important part of Japanese culture and festivals. Despite his dedication to mastering this traditional art form, Gojo often finds himself at a disadvantage when it comes to understanding modern trends and contemporary popular culture.

Gojo struggles to connect with his classmates, particularly because he is not well-versed in the latest fashion, technology, or social trends that seem to define the social landscape of his school. The popular students, especially the girl named Marin Kitagawa, appear to live in a completely different world from his own.
