Moses and the Ten Commandments

The story begins in the city of Pi-Ramesses, in Egypt, around 1300 B.C. During this period, the Hebrew people faced severe oppression under the rule of Pharaoh Seti. In a cruel attempt to control their population, the pharaoh issued a command for the systematic killing of all male Hebrew infants. This decree led to widespread fear and suffering among the Hebrew communities, as they desperately sought ways to protect their children and preserve their future.

Amidst this backdrop of violence and despair, a brave Hebrew family decided to take a daring risk. Knowing the dangers involved, they chose to hide their newborn son from the authorities. To shield him from the Pharaoh’s soldiers, they placed the baby in a small basket and set it afloat on the Nile River. The basket with the infant was carried along by the river’s currents, eventually reaching the area of the princess of Egypt, who was bathing along the riverbank.
