Fire Force

The story of Fire Force is set in a fictional version of Tokyo in the year 198 of the Solar Era. In this world, a strange phenomenon known as spontaneous human combustion is causing chaos across the city. People affected by this phenomenon turn into living infernos, which are known as "Infernals." These Infernals become a serious threat to public safety, as they are uncontrollable and destructive. As a result, specialized fire brigades have been established to combat these fiery monsters and contain the threat they pose to society.

The Infernals are categorized into different generations based on their characteristics. The first-generation Infernals are humans who have been consumed and transformed purely by spontaneous combustion. Subsequent generations of Infernals possess the unique ability to manipulate flames, while still retaining their human appearance. These flame-manipulating Infernals are more intelligent and dangerous, making them a challenging foe for the firefighters. The presence of such powerful beings calls for highly skilled and specialized firefighting units.

The protagonist of the series, Shinra Kusakabe, is a young man with a remarkable ability. He can ignite the soles of his feet at will, which allows him to move at incredible speeds and perform aerial maneuvers. Due to his power, he earns the nickname "Devil's Footprints." Shinra joins the Special Fire Force Company 8, a team comprised of other individuals with similar flame-manipulation abilities. The company’s mission is to combat Infernals and protect citizens from their devastating effects.

As Shinra and his colleagues carry out their duties, they encounter numerous Infernals and uncover various threats lurking in the city. The Fire Force is not just fighting incidental Infernals but is also aware of a clandestine faction creating them deliberately. This sinister organization aims to destabilize society and further their own mysterious agendas. Shinra’s journey evolves as he seeks to uncover the truth behind the origin of Infernals and the reasons behind the destructive fire that claimed his family twelve years ago.
